Maricopa County StandDown

When: January 24th & 25th starting at 7:00 a.m.

Where: Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fairgrounds, 1826 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85007

What is happening: Arizona StandDown is an event to help homeless and at-risk veterans find services ranging from haircuts to legal services and everything in-between.

At events veterans are met with a number of housing, healthcare, and supportive service providers ready to “cut the red tape” and deliver quick, efficient and quality services to veterans providing a fresh platform from which to end or prevent their homelessness. Major Service providers include AZ Department of Veteran Services, VA Healthcare and Benefits, Department of Economic Security, Social Security Administration, Motor Vehicle Division and Municipal and Superior Court Systems that clear over $100,000 in veterans’ fines in exchange for on-site community service releasing licenses and putting veterans back on a path to meaningful employment. In addition to one-stop services, veterans may receive dental services, pet assistance, meals, shower facilities, and housing placement assistance.
