What is happening: Southern Arizona Legal Aid (SALA) is providing free legal clinics.

Southern Arizona Legal Aid (SALA) is providing free legal clinics to those that meet their income qualifications.

Services Include:

Tribal Court: representation for Tribal Court cases such as domestic relations, juvenile dependency, delinquency, criminal, housing, public benefits, consumer matters, and education

Public Benefits: government welfare programs such as SNAP (Food Stamps) , AHCCCS Medical Assistance, TANF Cash Assistance, Unemployment and Social Security Disability benefits. Public benefits issues include denials, reductions and overpayment of benefits

Loss of Home/Unsafe Housing: loss of home due to foreclosure, tenant assistance with eviction from subsidized or private housing, sub- standard housing conditions, lockouts and utility shut-offs

Immigration: lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, certain family members of U.S. citizens,  undocumented persons who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or other crimes and others.  Services include representation before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Consumer Protection: deceptive and predatory lending practices, debt collection, auto repossessions, fraud, deficiencies, wage garnishments and bankruptcy

Education: public school expulsions, suspensions, bilingual and special education

Community Education: SALA’s Community Education Program provides legal educational brochures, pamphlets, self-help clinics and seminars to community agency staff, clients and the community at-large.
